Financial Plans

Security. Flexibility. Peace of Mind.

At Goodwin House Seminary Road, we’re building more than a place to live. We’re creating a community where you can live with intention and peace of mind, backed by a plan for whatever comes next. With excellent care available right on campus, you’ll have tremendous reassurance it’s there if needed.

As a Life Plan community (also known as a Continuing Care Retirement Community or CCRC), Goodwin House Seminary Road offers you a full continuum of care should your needs ever change. Our continuum includes Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Support, Short-Term Rehab and Long-Term Nursing Care. And with our Lifecare contract option, you’ll protect your future and benefit from predictable monthly costs that cover care as your needs evolve. Lifecare offers greater financial peace of mind and long-term value.

Understanding Entrance Fees & Monthly Fees

Fees are based on the type of contract and size of apartment. With all our plans, you benefit from the same guaranteed access to Assisted Living, Memory Support, Short-Term Rehabilitation and Long-Term Nursing Care if you ever need them.

Entrance Fee

A one-time fee paid at the time you join our community as a resident. The amount varies by apartment location and features like balconies or patios. All our contracts include a refundability clause that applies to your entrance fee. Be sure to ask one of our Sales Counselors for details.

Entrance fees start at $380,000

Monthly Fee

Covers living expenses such as utilities, maintenance, programming, amenities and dining. Monthly fees are subject to annual increases. Based on the contract you select, fees may also increase if you need more care. With our fee-for-service contract options, fees change based on care needs. With our Lifecare contract, you’ll always pay Independent Living rates at any level of living in our continuum of care.

Monthly fees start at $4,500

Lifecare or Fee-for-Service?

When considering your contract options, we’ll explain the detailed differences between our Lifecare and Fee-for-Service contracts.

For nearly 60 years, our Standard Lifecare contract has been the most popular choice because it offers the most financial predictability and stability by incorporating projected costs of care into the fee structure. You pay an entrance fee followed by monthly fees, which will not increase if you move to a higher level of care as your needs change.

Our Fee-for-Service contracts do not include the insurance-like coverage of care costs that the Lifecare option offers, and this makes them less predictable. You still pay an entrance fee followed by monthly fees, though your monthly fees will adjust to the private-pay market rates for the higher levels of care if you need them. Please note that we are limited to the number of fee-for-service contracts we can offer.

Our Sales Counselors will explore these options with you to help you understand how each option applies to your personal situation.

Our Lifecare Plan

Standard
Lifecare Plan

When we introduced our first campus in 1967, we offered one contract option. Today, it is still our most popular plan as it offers the greatest value and long-term financial predictability.

Our Fee-for-Service Plans

The 90% Refundable Plan

With this option, you can maximize the potential refund of your entrance fee, though monthly fees will be determined by your level of care. The entrance fee is 100% refundable in the first six months and 90% refundable thereafter.

Long-Term Care Insurance Plan

If you already purchased long-term care insurance, you might not need a Lifecare contract. This plan will cover 90 days of Assisted Living, Memory Support or Long-Term Nursing Care. After that, you’ll pay market rates for the care provided.

The Goodwin Living Promise

Since 1967, Goodwin Living has never asked a resident to leave due to their inability to pay. If you outlive your financial resources through no fault of your own, we’re here to help thanks to the generous donors to the Goodwin Living Foundation.
